Established in 1946, Northwest College is a public college. Located in Powell, Wyoming, Northwest College was originally established as the University of Wyoming Northwest Center. At the time of its founding, the University of Wyoming Northwest Center operated out of rented classrooms from schools in the city of Powell. Wanting to provide the people of Powell and the surrounding areas an opportunity for a higher education, the University of Wyoming Northwest Center operated as an extension campus of the University of Wyoming. This arrangement continued until 1950 when the University of Wyoming Northwest Center had severed ties with the University of Wyoming. Three years after this shift, the school was renamed to Northwest Community College. Up until this point, Northwest Community College was a commuter school, but plans were soon underway to change this. By 1989, the school had finally been renamed to Northwest College and dorms were built on the campus for students. Today, Northwest College has grown to become an important part of Wyoming’s higher education system.

Located in Casper, Wyoming, Casper College is one of Wyoming’s top community colleges. Established in 1945, Casper College originally functioned as a junior college. Offering students associate’s degrees, Casper College operated out of the Natrona County High School. For the next ten years, Casper College would continue to grow and add more students to its ranks. Soon, Casper College had grown too large for its home within the Natrona County High School. In 1955, Casper College moved to its current campus. While only occupying a small amount of the land at first, Casper College continued to steadily grow and now occupies nearly thirty buildings across its 200-acre campus. Not only did Casper College grow in physical size over time, it also grew in its academic offerings. Casper College has also produced many notable alumni including Former Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney. Today, Casper College is home to over 4,000 students.

Part of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, Sheridan College is a community college located in Sheridan, Wyoming. Established in 1948, Sheridan College has served the people of Sheridan by providing them with access to high-quality college programs. Since its establishment in 1948, Sheridan College has slowly advanced the number of academic programs as well as the number of students at the school. Sheridan College has also worked hard to make education accessible to students from all walks of life. One way that Sheridan College has managed to accomplish this is by offering students over $3 million in scholarship and financial aid. By offering this type of financial backing, Sheridan College has been able to cultivate a rich and diverse campus of students from many different backgrounds. The sister school of Sheridan College, Gillette College is also a member of the Northern Wyoming Community College District. A community college, Gillette College opened its doors to students in 1969. Operating as a junior college, Gillette College quickly became an integral part of the city of Gillette. Helping provide students with the opportunity for an affordable education, Gillette College has steadily worked to increase its student body. Since opening, Gillette College has worked to improve its campus and provide its students with the best facilities. Recently, Gillette College completed construction on The Pronghorn Center, a facility filled with classrooms, fitness centers, and a nursing simulation lab. The Pronghorn Center is part of a list of recent renovations undergone by Gillette College, including The Carter Health Science Center, The Technical Education Center, and The Tanner Village Residence Living. Through the addition of these facilities, Gillette College has worked to ensure that its student body has the resources it needs in order to receive the highest-quality education.

Established in 1886, the University of Wyoming is a public university. Located in Laramie, Wyoming, the University of Wyoming is commonly referred to as “U-Dub”. The flagship university of the state of Wyoming, the University of Wyoming opened to students three years prior to Wyoming becoming a state. Upon its establishment, construction began on the University of Wyoming campus which has now become part of the iconic look of the University of Wyoming’s idyllic campus.
