Originally known as the Elko Community College, Great Basin College was founded in 1967. At this time, Great Basin College has expanded its online degree offerings to include fully online bachelor’s degrees in English, Social Science, Nursing, Land Surveying, Digital Information Technology, and many more. Currently, the College of Southern Nevada has grown to offer 25 different online degree programs to students. A total of 1,000 courses are also made available to students entirely online. By focusing on online education, the College of Southern Nevada has been able to dramatically increase the number of students that attend classes at the school. Home of the Wolf Pack, the University of Nevada-Reno is a public research university. Founded in 1881, the University of Nevada-Reno is one of the oldest institutions of education in the entire state. Currently enrolling over 21,600 students, the University of Nevada-Reno offers students a large selection of degree programs through the school’s WebCampus platform. The University of Nevada-Reno offers more than 4,500 individual courses to students entirely online. Eight different degree programs are offered to students entirely online, including a Master of Social Work, a Master of Public Health, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice.
