Norwich University

Originally the nation’s first military college, Norwich University now offers master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and certificate programs online through Norwich University Online. The university is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., which is the nation’s oldest accrediting body. Four of the institution’s online program have received “best” distinctions, awarded by US News & World Report. The programs that received the honor are the online MBA program, the nursing master’s program, civil engineering, and the online bachelor’s program in strategic studies and defense analysis.

Norwich University Online Degrees

Online bachelor’s degrees that are available include a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis. Graduate students may pursue an online master’s degree in nine areas, some of which are nursing, diplomacy, military history, public administration, and leadership. Professional certificates are offered in post-secondary education and continuity of governmental operations.

Tuition and Aid

Tuition for the bachelor’s degree programs is $250 per credit hour for strategic studies and defense analysis and $350 per credit hour for criminal justice. The total program costs are $16,550 and $22,550 respectively. Students who qualify for a military discount receive a discount of $100 per credit hour for the criminal justice program, making the cost of both bachelor’s program equal. The total program cost for master’s degree programs ranges from $25,071 to $31,776, depending on the area of study. Certificates range in cost from $3,500 to $4,826.

Admissions

Applicants to the bachelor’s degree programs are required to have completed an associate’s degree or 60 hours of prior coursework and demonstrate basic math and writing abilities. They must also submit an application, a statement of intent, and military and academic transcripts. Master’s degree applicants are required to have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. GRE or GMAT scores may be requested depending on undergraduate GPA.
