Best Masters in Education Programs Online: Students Before Profits Award

best online masters in education

Our Students Before Profits Awards were created to promote nonprofit colleges and universities offering online degree programs that put students before profits and education before the bottom line. For our Top Online Master’s in Education award winners, we selected online programs from accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities with objectively lower than average tuition cost and have ranked the programs according to their affordability.

For teachers and other educational professionals, the benefits of earning a master’s degree in education are many. A master’s degree can equip seasoned educators with necessary credentials to pursue administrative positions, or a master’s degree in some districts offers teachers higher pay scales for having a specific number of credits beyond the bachelor’s degree. However, since many students pursuing a master’s degree in education are currently-full-time teachers looking to advance their careers while competing coursework simultaneously, traditional programs of study can prove to be a strain on their busy schedules. Online master’s degree programs offer the flexibility that these professionals need to be able to complete graduate studies while maintaining the rigorous schedule of a full-time teacher.

While affordability, is our primary criteria when it comes to ranking these programs, many of these programs are consistently ranked among the top by other national publications and are considered among the best online master’s in education programs available.

Note that tuition rates listed below are based on cost per credit and individual programs may have additional fees.
