Best Online Master’s of Criminal Justice: Students Before Profits Award 2015

Best-Online-Masters-of-Criminal-Justice---Students-Before-Profits-Award-2015Our Students Before Profits Award Rankings are designed to promote nonprofit colleges and universities offering online degree programs that put students before profits and education before the bottom line.

For our 2015 Online Master’s in Criminal Justice award winners, we selected online programs from accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities with objectively lower than average tuition cost and have ranked the programs according to their affordability.

Criminal justice and related fields – including homeland security, cybersecurity, and economic crime management – continue to evolve and reflect the contemporary issues of globalization, transnational crime and terrorism, and technological advancements. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 3 million individuals are employed in the criminal justice industry as police officers, criminal investigators, special agents, corrections officers, probation and parole officers, correctional treatment specialists, criminal records managers, court referral officers, court managers, security specialists, crime prevention officers, victim advocates, criminal justice planners, juvenile service workers, and intelligence employees. Graduates of advanced degree programs will be better suited for upper-level positions in the field, and will reap the benefits of a dynamic, ever-changing career.

Affordability, accreditation and nonprofit status are our primary criteria when it comes to ranking these programs, but many of these programs are consistently ranked among the top by other national publications and we believe they deserve to be considered among the best online master’s in criminal justice programs available.

Note that tuition rates listed below are based on total program costs for out-of-state, full-time students. In-state rates are often less expensive, and part-time cost per credit hour is often more expensive.
