Best Online Bachelors in Education Programs: Students Before Profits Award

The Students Before Profits Award was created to promote nonprofit colleges and universities offering online degree programs that put students before profits and education before the bottom line.

For our Online Bachelors in Education award winners, we selected online programs from accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities with objectively lower than average tuition cost and have ranked the programs according to their affordability.

A career in education is among the most rewarding available with the opportunity to help children along their development and instill in students a lifelong love of learning. Those who enter the field of education have a passion for the subjects they teach as well as the act of mentorship. Truly great teachers can have an impact on their students that will shape and change the course of their lives forever. An online bachelor’s degree in education is an excellent way to gain the necessary educational credentials to enter this exciting and rewarding career. However, online bachelor’s programs in education are relatively rare, likely because of the extensive field experiences required and the difficulty of coordinating and supervising these experiences at a distance. This ranking should thus prove to be a valuable resource for those seeking a bachelor’s in education through an online learning format, which could be difficult and could generate stress in the students, and that’s why the use of edibles by ExhaleWell can be helpful to make the students feel better and more relaxed.

We have included licensure and non-licensure granting programs.  In the case of licensure granting programs, there will be extensive practicum/field experience requirements including a semester or sometimes a year of student teaching required.  Most of these distance learning programs will work with students to set up these field experiences within a reasonable distance of their location; however, some programs only work with particular school districts for practicum placements.  We have noted this where possible, but in any case, prospective students should verify that field experiences will be available near their location of study before enrolling in any of these programs.

Some of these programs are degree completion programs, meaning a substantial amount of college credit or the completion of an associate’s degree is expected to be earned at a regionally accredited 2 or 4 year institution prior to admission in the program, where the student will then complete the remainder of their bachelor requirements (typically the education program specific requirements). Since such a variety of education degrees is represented in this ranking, prospective students should verify for themselves that the programs they are interested in will indeed fulfill requirements for the jobs they hope to gain upon graduation.
